Car Show This weekend

Its That time again,and The Great Southern Street Machine Association holds The Albany Weekender and Auto 1, annual burnout competition and show n shine.The burnouts will be held at Albanys Attwell Speedway Saturday 29th October, gates open 5pm, burnouts start 5,30pm. This year see’s another tough competition in the naturally aspirated class with last years winner and 2 time Motorvation Burnout Champion, James Calway coming down from Perth to defend his title. There will be no shortage of talent in this event as there will be some hard chargers both locally and metro with some well respected and tough cars competing for the $1000 First Prize along with a fantastic trophy. All in all theres $2000 up for grabs so the boys will be out there giving their best. This year see’s the first running of a Supercharged Class and promises to be an awesome display of tyre shredding,big horsepower machines that will get your attention real fast. The GSSMA has managed to get last years half time Burnout display cars to come down again and show us how its done.Steve “KINGER” Sines and Matt Purnell (HQUEBED) now with a new car, will once again let rip at half time,this is something not to be missed, these guys are 2 of the best in Australia, you don’t want to miss them.They have agreed to offer up their passenger seats for those of you who would like to experience what its like to be in a tough Burnout car. Tickets will be on sale on the night at only $5 each. The boys will have their cars on display near the Speedway clubrooms on the night for those who want to have a chat and a closer view.One other guy who is well known in the Burnout fraturnity is “Rowdy Mantach” who will open the show with his awesome Supercharged HQ Ute ,so be early you don’t want to miss this guy, he knows how its done!!

Sunday 30th October sees the Show n Shine at Railways Football Oval,Lockyer Ave,gates open 9am. Once again this is the perfect opportunity to see some fantastic , Street Machines, Hot Rods and Muscle cars from Albany and across the state.Theres heaps of trophys for all catagories,(thanks to all the generous sponsors) available and the one everybodys likes to win ‘Peoples Choice”. This trophy is voted by you the public so don’t forget to fill out a coupon and place it in the box at the Information tent.This year will be the first time that the Great Southern Street Machine Assoc, will host a motocycle display, thanks to Mick Ball and the crew from Great Southern Motocycles, Albany. This means if your love for motorsport is on 2 wheels instead of 4, there will be something for all. There will be heaps to see and do, Bouncy Castle ,food stands,see a car get chopped up by the Volunteer Fire Brigade, trade displays and more.
